I originally learned about manifesting, aka the Law of Attraction, from the movie, The Secret, which came out in 2006. I thought it was fascinating, but didn’t really do much with the information until many years later.

The change came about when I read Napoleon Hill’s, Think and Grow Rich. As with many others who have read it, this book changed my life. It opened up so many possibilities to what my life could be.

I’ve been studying and practicing manifesting techniques for several years now with some pretty amazing results!

Today, I want to start with the basics, an outline of the fundamental and basic principles of the Law of Attraction and how it can transform your life. 

What is the Law of Attraction?

The Law of Attraction, often referred to as manifesting, is the belief that like attracts like. Simply put, the energy and vibrations you put out into the universe attract similar energy and experiences back to you. Similar to what many of us call Karma.

This law operates on the principle that your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions shape your reality. In other words, your thoughts become things.

Your thoughts and beliefs are very powerful. Your thoughts and beliefs act as magnets, bringing to you experiences and opportunities that resonate with them.

If you focus on positive thoughts and beliefs, you will create a positive energy field around you. On the other hand, negative thoughts and limiting beliefs can attract unwanted experiences.

Manifesting Example

Let’s use attracting relationships as an example: 

If you sincerely believe in the power of love and maintain positive thoughts about relationships, you’re more likely to attract loving and fulfilling connections.

However, if you hold onto negative beliefs about love or have doubts about having a happy relationship, you may unknowingly repel love from entering your life, always finding yourself in unhappy partnerships.

Vibrational Alignment

An important factor in manifesting is making sure your emotions and desires are in alignment.

Your emotions are strong indicators of your vibrational alignment with your desires.

If you are feeling joy, gratitude, and excitement, you give off high-frequency vibrations that attract positive outcomes. Feelings of fear, doubt, or frustration emit lower-frequency vibrations that may hinder your manifestation process.

Let’s talk for a moment about attracting financial abundance and prosperity.

By cultivating feelings of abundance, gratitude, and trust in the universe’s abundance, you align your vibrations with prosperity. This, in turn, attracts opportunities, ideas, and circumstances that lead to financial abundance. 

Remember to keep an open mind to how these opportunities and ideas may be presented to you. The universe often shows up in unexpected ways!

Here are some practical tips to harness the Law of Attraction in your daily life and manifest your desires.

Tip 1: Clarify Your Desires and Set Intentions

You must define exactly what you want and set very clear intentions. Write them down, visualize them, and believe that they are already yours.

Many manifesters find vision boards to be helpful for setting clear intentions. If you use a vision board, make sure it’s visible to you every day. Having this clarity helps the universe understand your desires to know what it is you truly want.

Another idea is to create a digital collage and save it as the background of your phone. Depending on how often you check your phone, you could possible be seeing your desires hundreds of times a day!

Tip 2: Use Positive Affirmations

Use positive affirmations to reprogram your subconscious mind with empowering beliefs. Take some time to dig deep, self-reflect, and learn what your limiting beliefs are. You will need to work to rewire your thought patterns with positive affirmations. 

Tip 3: Visualize

Visualize your desired outcomes as if they’ve already manifested, engaging all your senses in the process. It’s most important to physically feel what it’s like to have your desires manifest. This sends a clear message to the universe about what you want to attract.

Tip 4: Show Gratitude

Gratitude is a powerful tool for manifesting. Express gratitude daily for what you already have. This raises your vibration and attracts more abundance into your life.

Keep a gratitude journal or practice gratitude meditation to amplify the effects. Think not just about external things to be grateful for, like family, career, etc., but also consider internal strengths, such as resilience, your great sense of humor, etc. 

Tip 5: Take Action

While the previous tips are essential to manifest your desires, it’s important to remember that manifestation requires action. You have to do your part to work with the universe in making your desires manifest.

Open yourself up to and act on opportunities that align with your desires, as they are often the stepping stones to manifesting your dreams.

Remember that the Law of Attraction is a powerful force that shapes your reality. By mastering your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, you can align yourself with the experiences and outcomes you desire. Practice these tips and watch as you begin to create the life you desire.
